Forty Year 10 students from our GCSE Economics course travelled to Queen's College in central London on Wednesday 24th April to participate in Stock Market Challenge. In this exciting and fast paced event, students are divided into teams and are given £15,000 to invest. Over the five "days" of the competition the teams buy and sell shares, taking account of breaking news and changing share prices. The winning team impressively managed to turn their initial stake into a portfolio worth £113,800.

We would like to thank Ms Feeney, Head of Economics at Queen's College, her sixth form students and her colleagues, for hosting the event. The event was part of our membership of the Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership (SSLP) which is a collaboration between eighteen state and independent schools based in and around the London Borough of Southwark.
