This July we have our first Festival of Creativity, titled ‘Another World is Possible’ involving pupils from Charter East and Charter North. Years 7, 9 and 10 will work with a range of practitioners to develop their creative thinking, working with leading practitioners, in authentic ways. We would like all pupils to feel they can be creative and flourish. And for all pupils to recognise they can make a difference in the world, with the necessary creative skills to tackle challenges of the future.

Every pupil in these year groups will be involved over the three days, 18th to 20th July:

  • Year 7 will work with Sigrún Sævarsdóttir-Griffiths, Paul Griffiths and other musicians to explore creative music-making through voice.
  • Year 10 will work with a large team of practitioners from UAL (from Central St. Martins and Camberwell) to work on a design challenge
  • Year 9 will work with artists from Theatre Peckham to explore some of the theatre’s recent work.

We have set up a voluntary donation item on Parent Pay for those families that would like to support with the costs of the event.  However, the event itself is free to all the young people across those year groups and we hope that they will find the three days hugely inspiring!
