The Charter School North Dulwich has an ambitious target to be free of single-use plastic by 2021.

We are very pleased to announce that over half-term we installed twelve new bottle refill stations. Students can now top up their own reusable water bottles with cool, filtered water around the school.

We have committed to replacing the old pipework that supplies the existing water fountains along with the installation of these new water bottle refill stations but the costs involved are approximately £50k. The Friends of Charter School North Dulwich have set up a Just Giving Campaign to help to raise the money needed to bring this important project to life and we still need your donations to help fund this work.

Did you know:

- Bottled water is around 1,000 times more expensive that normal tap water

- And its much more damaging to the environment; manufacturing plastic bottles uses millions of barrels of oil and transporting bottled water produces tonnes of carbon emissions.

- Putting your plastic waste in the recycling bin doesn't guarantee that it will be recycled. Most of the UK's recycling is sent to China and other parts of Asia, and recent research found that much of it may end up being dumped rather than recycled.
