Pupils at The Charter School North Dulwich are celebrating their GCSE and Level 2 vocational results today. 

Our Year 11 students have demonstrated incredible perseverance, resilience and responsibility to achieve the excellent outcomes we have seen today despite the disruption to their education over the past two years caused by the pandemic.We are immensely proud of their hard work and how they have demonstrated our school values of Excellence, Responsibility and Perseverance, and how they have supported each other as part of our school Family.

These results today are to be celebrated.

Overall results have improved significantly on 2019, the last year of standard examinations. 

·      84% of all pupils in Year 11 have attained a standard pass or above in both English and Maths (Grade 4-9). This was 82% in 2019. 

·      78% of all pupils gained a strong pass in both English and Maths, a significant increase on the previous figure of 67% in 2019. 

·      55% of all grades at GCSE achieved grades 7-9, an increase from 44% in 2019 and a slight increase on 2021 when the grades were teacher assessed. 

·      59% of pupils gained the English Baccalaureate, an increase from 49% in 2019. 

·      81% of pupils gained at least one GCSE at grade 7-9 or distinction in their vocational qualifications,an increase from 68% in 2019. 

·      18% of all grades were awarded a grade 9 

Executive Headteacher, Christian Hicks, said, “We are extremely proud of the achievements of every one of our Year 11 students. Their hard work and commitment to excellence in their education despite the challenges of the last two years has led to these fantastic results. We also want to pay tribute to the hard work and commitment of their teachers and parents in supporting our young people to achieve such amazing success throughout the difficulties of the past two years."

Overall, there were many notable individual performances based on the grades which individual pupils achieved, including:

·      Belle Ellington,(ten grade 9s) 

·      Eden Smith, (ten grade 9s) 

·      Catriona Robson,(nine grade 9s) 

·      Zoë Hill, (eight grade 9s and one grade 8) 

·      Leyla Karasu, (eight grade 9s and two grade 8s) 

·      Leo Kessaris, (six grade 9s and two grade 8s) 

·      Adam Lekhaili, (six grade 9s and two grade 8s) 

·      Alice Atkins, (ten grade 9s and two grade 8s) 

·      Ade Ingram, (five grade 9s and five grade 8s) 

·      ThomasCheung, (five grade 9s and two grade 8s)

·      George Rybinski,(four grade 9s and four grade 8s) 

·      Honor Read, (nine grade 9s and one grade 8)

The following pupils have not only gained an excellent set of results but have also made exceptional progress during their time with us at the school: 

·      Hugo Stark (nine strong passes including a 9 in English and an 8 in Sociology) 

·      Ruben Luthra (three grade 9s and four grade 8s) 

·      Priyal Patel (eight strong passes including 7s in English and Food Technology) 

·      Abigail Mesfin (ten Strong passes including 7s in English and Spanish) 

·      Bradley Din Ebongue(ten passes including 7s in English and Maths) 

·      Chae Gibson (seven passes including 7s in English and Sociology)

There were significant successes in performance across a range of subjects at GCSE,in particular the progress and attainment in English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry,Physics, History and Geography. Exceptional outcomes were achieved in the creative and performing arts, a very important part of the school curriculum,including outstanding progress and attainment in Art, Drama, Food Technology,Design Technology, Music, Sport and PE.  

These are just a snap shot of today’s fantastic results, and there were many more amazing individual performances and so we congratulate every single Year 11 pupil for their achievements and thank them for their hard work throughout the difficulties of the last two years. We are delighted that the majority of pupils now have results that mean that they are able progress to the next stage of their education and focus on what will be a great future.
